In my youth I developed the art of being able to sketch a person’s face without much effort. Since then my interests varied and I lost that exacting ability, but I do on occasion enjoy rendering a face or bust in multiple mediums, be it wire, window screen, charcoal, clay or compacted sand on the beach. With the latter, when asked by a passer by “Who is that?” I always reply, “Who do you think it is?” They’ll inevitably mention someone and I’ll say “You’re absolutely right!” And they’ll say “Really? That’s cool!” Yes I lied, but did I really? And that’s art.
