Candice Ann

I consider myself lucky to have been born and raised in Leavenworth. While attending high school I was one of the first recipients of the Leavenworth Art in the Park scholarship. This allowed me to attend college at the Art Institute of Seattle and become a graphic designer.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Seattle I was given the position of Student Art Director in which I helped students find jobs as artists and follow through to complete those jobs while attending college.  Leavenworth called me back however, and once I moved home I used my skills as a graphic designer for local businesses like The Washington Apple Commission, Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, Linderhof, Bavarian Lodge, and many other businesses.  Soon I began painting signs and murals for businesses in the area.

During the time I was painting murals I also started painting with acrylics and watercolors for fun.  I found I loved creating fine art as well as being a graphic designer.  I have shown my paintings in galleries in many different areas of Washington.  I also teach children and adult art classes.   I believe I was one of the original handful of artists who were asked to paint an auction bowl from the very beginning years of Empty Bowls.  I've always felt honored to be part of Empty Bowls as it's such a wonderful group of people who are trying to make a difference.  For the past four years I've been creating original hand painted ornaments for Kris Kringl in Leavenworth.
