Jon Riley
Jon Riley is one of Empty Bowls' newest potters this year, and has been working with Mijanou Fourtney, a regular Empty Bowls potter, to produce bowls for this year's event.
Joining the Leavenworth community about three and a half years ago, Riley works for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Leavenworth Ski Hill, and as a volunteer for the Chelan County fire district. Pottery is a hobby he first began in high school, worked with off and on in college, and then picked up again after moving to Leavenworth through utilizing Fourtney's open studio evenings at Tierra Learning Center. Riley enjoys making and giving away his work - as he says, he "trades mugs for hugs."
He has loved the outdoor adventure and opportunities of the area, and is glad to now be able to also play a part in this important community event.
