Trained as a production potter, Barry is able to pruduce high quality work quickly and efficiently. He was first introduced to pottery in high school, after he was kicked out of a business class and pottery was his only remaining course option. He loved it. After high school, Barry spent seven years working for various pottery companies, before starting his own business. He makes primarily functional work, and now also sells his pieces online through Etsy. A volunteer fireman during the summers, Barry likes to stay actively involved in helping his community, and loves the fact that Empty Bowls gives him the opportunity to do so through doing exactly what he would be doing anyhow. As he says, "retirement is not a word in my vocabulary. I'll be making pots til I die!"
