Dawn Kranz
Dawn has been an Empty Bowls potter since 1998. She learned wheel throwing in the early 1970’ and developed the skill at Waldorf College, South Bear Pottery in Iowa and at Instituto Allende in Mexico. Her best influence came through the Bauhaus potters of Germany, where strong form and useful function are required to work well together in every pot the artisan makes.
Since 1987 Cabin Home Pottery has been known in this valley for its wide variety of high quality dinner and daily ware. Each piece is hand formed (thrown) on a potter’s wheel, bisque fired, individually glazed and then glaze fired to 2130 degrees farenheit which brings the pot to its optimum stoneware strength. Most recently Dawn has been selling her work in the summer farmers markets in Wenatchee and Leavenworth, Washington.
