Castilia Cava
Castilia is a full time Art teacher at Cashmere High School. She teaches beginning art to grades 7-10 along with advanced art and ceramics. She enjoys creating her own work of oil and acrylic paintings of vibrant color and design along with some ceramic pieces. Castilia's art is a direct reflection of her ‘inner light’. She enjoys sharing with her viewers what interest her and to encourage others to see the beauty and color that surrounds them.
In 2010 Castilia had her first one-man exhibit, “Journey to Creativity” at Icicle Arts Gallery, which showcased her use of vibrant, bright colors while exploring various mediums. In 2009 Castilia joined the Empty Bowls growing list of volunteers by firing many of the participants’ soup bowls and is continuing to do so now.
In 2010 she was Program Coordinator for the After School Arts Program. Castilia has taught art for the Wenatchee School District After School Program and in summer 2011 she taught two weeks of printmaking art at McDee's Art Center in Wenatchee. She has volunteered her time teaching art for two years at Royal Family Kids Camp for Foster boys and girls in the Greater Wenatchee Area.
She is young, her art is exciting, and she loves working for a cause: to feed the hungry in our community!
